Abstract

The article explores and considers the current political situation in Bolivia. Thinking about Bolivia allows us to identify the limits and contradictions of the so-called “left-turn” in Latin America. Relying on the recent literature on Bolivia and published interviews to key actors, the article aims to explain and describe the relationships between government and social organizations, and the ways in which the notion of Vivir Bien (to live well) becomes a practical and discursive tool for political domination.
