Abstract

This study reports the contributions that make a software for qualitative analysis as is NVIVO in
developing Grounded Theory as a tool for analyzing complex universes with multiplicity of variables
that arise many times in the course of gathering information. With this practical purpose a pilot study
conducted in an educational center for technical training is presented, emphasizing what could be
their contribution to local development considering some variables as the model of development,
their educational contribution and its environmental analysis. It is therefore proposed, as a result of
this study, a model (or models) of articulation of a school with a vocation for community input, to
conduct empirical contributions to local development.
