Peasant and native communities are institutions whose historical references date back much earlier than the modern states established in Latin America during the 19th century. These institutions, during the 20th century, became classic places of academic research and enunciation for both national and foreign anthropologists. The text I review forms part of that academic reflection and will go to the shelves of the libraries, thus constituting a testimony of a historical moment of the aforementioned communities. Due to the simplicity of its writing, I sense that this short text - made up of three chapters and an annex - is aimed at a wide and diverse audience.
